The Rosamond Adjai Jones Foundation

In recognition of her dedication and long commitment to early childhood education, The Rosamond Adjai Jones Foundation has been established to honor her, with the primary goal of enhancing early childhood education and participation in religious activities by disadvantaged students. It plans to encourage creativity by offering extracurricular activities in music, arts & crafts, and drama.

There are numerous organizations formed by student from a common Secondary or tertiary educational institution to help their alma mata, but little attention is paid to kindergarten and primary schools, let alone institution for physically and/or mentally disadvantaged students. These often-neglected institutions are where strong educational foundation can be laid.

Rosamond in her younger days was a feisty energetic teacher, whom her students knew as a strict disciplinarian. She was fiercely independent and not afraid of hard work.

In the short autobiography, she recalls the most memorable moment in her long teaching career as the day she was on a live program in Sierra Leone Broadcasting Station, and got one of her disabled student (who had never spoken before) to repeat some words that she said to him. That moment, brought her so much joy that it left an indelible impression on her.

The Rosamond, Adjai Jones foundation, is establish on her centennial birthday with the objective of enhancing the education of disadvantaged children to support their development in drama arts and crafts and music.
